The domestic pig is descended from the wild boar. By breeding, around 70 breeds have been created in different colours worldwide. Pigs are mostly pink and have a bristly fur. But depending on the breed, they can be brown, black or pied. It is said that the animals are dirty, because they like to wallow in mud.
